My Approach

I firmly believe that each person who walks through my door is a unique individual, and deserves to be treated as such. Through the use of an initial consultation, followed up with subsequent psychotherapy sessions, I work closely with each person in order to assist them in developing and attaining their personal goals. I provide a warm and safe environment that allows me to empower individuals, help them better understand their behaviors, environments and relationships, and foster an overall sense of well-being that suits their life and needs.

About me

Dr. Lisa Smalheiser utilizes an integrative approach to treatment combining both cognitive behavioral and self-empowerment/motivational interviewing strategies. She prides herself in tailoring treatment to the specific needs of each and every individual, as there are no two people exactly alike. In addition to her Clinical work, Dr. Smalheiser is a CrossFit Coach. She strives to educate others on the parallel between mental health and physical health and aims to incorporate holistic approaches stressing the mind-body connection in treatment when suitable. You will find her to be sincere, compassionate, and a wealth of knowledge.
